DIRT

Today Chloe and I made DIRT (chocolate pudding, crushed oreos and gummy worms - we added bananas on the bottom for a healthy aspect lol). She had a rough day at the doctors getting shots, and I was trying to cheer her up. Here are some pictures of our finished product.

Back to our regularly scheduled programming..

Just messing around in photoshop a bit, testing out new ideas and concepts.. Chloe's my lucky subject today! she's cute right? Want her?? I kid, I kid - she's a sweetheart, and I love that I'm truly able to capture her personality, makes me smile just looking at her :)

It's not about pictures today.

Do you ever just have one of those days? You feel like everything is just squishing you a little too hard? Pushing your buttons, making your emotions go crazy? I'm on day 4 of this feeling! I just want it to go away. It always happens when my daughter is sick, or when my husband is away - the walls just seem a little closer than the day before.

Chloe has been sick for a couple of days now, she was in the Children's emergency center on friday night, she's ok, she's going to be ok, but it just makes me tremble. It brings back old feelings of when she was in the hospital when she was a baby, riding in the ambulance at her side. It's an overwhelming emotion for me to even try to decribe, but it punches me in the gut and I feel like I can't breathe without tears forming. I keep hearing commercials for the children's hospital on the radio, and I feel like something takes over me every time - I just have to turn it off. Chloe really is ok, nothing a little medication can't fix, so why does this affect me so badly? I know the feeling is going to go away the better Chloe gets, so I really hope it's a speedy recovery. Thank goodness I'm the master at hiding my feelings! Chloe doesn't know mommy is sad, she just knows that mommy is so proud of her for being so brave, and that's the way I'm going to keep it.

I never knew having a blog would help so much, writing out my feelings is a truly wonderful blessing to have.

more beach things

Well what a cool vacation!! My sweet daughter surprised me in MANY ways. We went to the aquarium where we had to search out "Grandma's turtle". We spent a good 20 minutes trying to find this turtle for Grandma, and Chloe was giddy when we did find it.

While at the aquarium, I was also shocked to watch Chloe touch a number of "things" she wouldn't usually dare touch. She touched a horseshoe crab - both sides!! - a sting ray and and shark!! I was utterly shocked. I didn't get very good pictures of the sting ray and none of the shark as I was holding onto her for dear life, making sure she wouldn't be eaten lol I was WAY more scared than she was, what a brave girl, she's come a long way :)

We ventured to the Children's Museum where Chloe played doctor, encased herself in a bubble, drove the Magic School bus and many other cool thing. The bubble was pretty awesome, she was very proud of herself when she mastered it.

and here she is driving the school bus, I was getting artistic taking pictures in the mirror :)

of course we ended up back at the beach.. man it was cold - and yes I know it's not below zero, but those cold winds off the water at 40 degrees suck.. yeah I said it! :)

This is Chloe's "Chloe to the rescue" run.. it's freaking hilarious in person - she has to start out in this pose...

There are several more pictures I'm sure I'll get around to editing when I don't feel like I'm going to fall off of this chair, but I hope you enjoyed our little bit of paradise :)

The Chick...

Well I wish I knew that chicks hatched from their eggs so quickly! I was looking at an egg that nothing was happening too, so I didn't take a picture, then all of a sudden there was movement and the shell was breaking away. I whipped out my camera as quick as I could, but didn't get the initial picture of the egg intact - that will teach me!! This was such a cool experience for both Chloe and I. The last two pictures were taken about half an hour after the first two, the chick was very tired after hatching and not moving a whole lot. It was so neat to come back and see it fully out.

Random things...

Some family fun time at the beach

I don't have a lot of time to update my blog yet, I've taken so many pictures I'm having a hard time sifting through them to post the best ones. I, at least, finally have one of myself thanks to my dear husband. I've had a lot of fun taking pictures of shells, birds, the water, feathers and most of all Chloe. Something about the natural light, not having to worry about my flash and if it's the right tone.. it makes life SO much easier!! I was impressed with a couple of pictures I was able to take at the Aquarium, they aren't fancy, but they were pretty clear for through the glass. Anyway I'll pop a couple up now, but there are definitely more to come as time goes on...

Oh we got to see a chick hatch from it's egg.. I mean one minute it was a whole egg, next minute - BAM Chick! I'll post those later, they are pretty cool :)

Nature trail with Chloe

Yesterday Chloe and I decided to have a day of fun, really all I was trying to do was wear her out so she'd sleep that night, but if we happened to have a ton of fun around my devious plan - what was the harm??

We went to Mickey Ds to play in their indoor playground - didn't take my camera there - I'm not THAT person (ok maybe i am, it was hard to not take itin :). We went to the park, which we discovered had a little nature trail. We took a walk down it, only to truly discover it's really a trail of mud going along a very small stream. We did, however, get REALLY muddy and Chloe thought that was super cool, mom - not so much.

I found I can't really take a picture of a nature trail to save my life, as these were the best shots - something for me to work on, great another project! I also discovered Chloe is starting to get jealous of NOT being in front of the camera, so there are a couple of her thrown in also to appease her - I've created a monster, thank goodness she's cute! :)

Oh and for all of you sitting on the edge of your seats - she went to bed at 6:45pm WOOHOO!! only to wake up at midnight screaming, I think the nature trail was a bit creepy d'oh!
